Testosterone is commonly linked to increased muscle mass and increased libido. However, testosterone plays an important part to your overall health. Having optimal testosterone levels can provide you with the following benefits:

Elevated Mood – Optimal testosterone levels are key for healthy moods in men. Often we have patients report less anxiety or depression as well as feeling more like themselves. Also they report being less irritated and able to respond better to stress.

Mental Focus – Testosterone helps keep you focused and driven. Patients report that they can stay on task and have a better overall work performance.

Better Memory – Testosterone is a hormone that is essential for men in protecting the nervous system. Healthy testosterone levels have been attributed to a lower incidence of dementia and Alzheimer’s. Our testosterone patients notice these memory boosting benefits.

Decreased Chance of Alzheimer – The studies are pretty clear. Men with testosterone levels that are in the top percentage of normal (aka optimal levels) have a much lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

Lower Your Cholesterol – Patients with healthy testosterone levels also have lower cholesterol levels. And patients who start testosterone therapy also can notice this improvement on their labs.

Decreased Chance of Diabetes – Men with diabetes are chronically low in testosterone. And studies have also shown that men with higher testosterone levels have a lower incidence of developing diabetes.

Lower Risk of Heart Disease – Testosterone promotes healthy muscles and this includes your most important muscle, the heart. Men with optimal testosterone levels and those that are on testosterone replacement have a lower risk of heart attack, stroke and high blood pressure.

Lose Weight – Testosterone helps men lose fat in many ways. For men the testosterone estrogen balance is essential, when that balance is out of whack it stimulates your body to store fat, especially around the midsection. Having the correct balance will put your body on the right path toward weight loss. Testosterone also can promote building muscle which increases your metabolism.

Improved Erectile Function – Testosterone is the key component for healthy sexual development for men and is also a key component for maintaining healthy sexual performance as you age. There are many other factors that can be associated with ED as well but the benefits of testosterone can’t be overlooked.

Improved Libido – Testosterone is also vital for a healthy libido. Healthy testosterone has also been shown to boost confidence, performance, and erectile function all of which are beneficial for the psychological component of libido.

Improved Quality of Life – With optimal testosterone levels you can feel better on a day to day basis helping improve your overall outlook and enjoyment of life.

Increased Bone Density – Testosterone is a key hormone in preserving bone strength in men. Osteoporosis is not just a female problem more and more men are being diagnosed with weak bones leading to pain and even disability.

Increased Energy – The number one complaint we hear from men with low testosterone i slow energy. And the biggest area of improvement that we find with men on testosterone therapy is with energy.

Increased Life Span – Optimal testosterone levels decrease your risk for developing heart disease and cancer, the two biggest causes of death for men. So naturally if we can prevent or delay the onset of heart disease or cancer it will add years to your life.

Increased Muscle Mass – Of all the benefits of optimal testosterone this is the most well known. Testosterone is the hormone that helps preserve and grow muscle. If you are looking to increase performance and build muscle mass you can’t do it without testosterone.
